ModelMaker
One of the most daunting aspects of circuit simulation is that of defining mathematical models to describe semiconductors and other complex non-linear components. The SPICE models are complex, cumbersome, and take a long time to analyse - even on today's hardware. ModelMaker takes a much more pragmatic approach to component modelling by generating compact, efficient and configurable device models from your own specification.
ModelMaker is a set of applets which allow you to define a component model using the kind of information found on a data sheet. Once the definition is complete, you click on a button and the model is saved in SpiceAge's own format. Now you need never be without a model for the latest semiconductor - you can even design your own 'perfect' devices !
ModelMaker comes in the following modules:-
- Operational Amplifiers
- Bipolar Transistors
- Junction Field Effect Transistors
- MOSFETS
- Attenuators
- Transformers
As an example, look at the way you define a bipolar transistor using ModelMaker, above.
Data like this is readily available from manufacturer's catalogues and can be quickly entered into ModelMaker. No more head-scratching whilst you try to understand how SPICE transistor parameters work - ModelMaker does it all for you. The resulting model analyses several times faster than its SPICE equivalent.
